As we all know, society was dominated by men for many years. The patriarchal dominance within society is, arguably, still present; however, we can see that more and more women are receiving equal treatment. More women are succeeding in high-end businesses, more women are succeeding in governmental positions and more women are succeeding as motivational speakers. Female motivational speakers are very successful in the modern world due to their ability to deliver clear presentations which appeal to a wide variety of people. Moreover, the best women are able to be successful motivational speakers due to an inner drive which propels them towards success. I think that women are only now receiving the credit which they truly deserve and we must continue to raise the profile of female motivational speakers in the hope that more women become interested in the field. This will allow us to sustain a continuous flow of successful female speakers. Let us now explore the works of some of the most successful women in the world of motivational speaking.
Amy Purdy is one of my favourite female motivational speakers because she is able to inspire people with her exceptionally challenging life story. For those of you who are unaware of what she has experienced, Amy faced a life-threatening illness known as meningococcal meningitis. As a result of this illness, Amy lost both of her legs below the knee. Following this procedure, one would expect an individual to spiral into a vicious cycle of mental trauma, but Amy was able to overcome the difficulty which she faced. Amy challenged herself to move on and achieve what she wanted in life. Amy’s positive outlook led her to olympic success and also led to the development of her career as a model and motivational speaker. Amy is so good because she is able to channel her suffering and difficulties in life into things which motivate her to be better. She is subsequently able to share this message with her audiences around the globe, thus inspiring millions of people to be better versions of themselves.
Another inspiring women in the world of motivational speaking is Erin Gruwell. She is a woman who initially begun her career as a teacher of children whom she realised had difficulty sharing their feelings. As a result Erin took measures such as giving the children journals which enabled them to open up. Now, Erin is using her methods to reach students no matter how difficult their lives may be. Erin is a prime example of an attentive and hard-working individual who is willing to go to extreme measures in order to help others.
