I believe I have what it takes to be a Motivational Speaker. Throughout my life, I have noticed a need for great Motivational Speakers to inspire others so that they can fulfil their full potential, and I know that I have the skills to be one of those people. Here are the qualities that I possess that are necessary for being a Motivational Speaker.

Firstly, Confidence is key to providing impactful and life-changing speeches. To be a Motivational Speaker, one must have the confidence to get up in front of a large crowd and speak clearly and effectively. One must also be able to effectively transfer that confidence to the audience. Motivational Speaking is about making your audience believe that they have the ability to achieve a particular task. Any credible Motivational Speaker knows that instilling the right mindset leads to productivity. In recent years, I have participated in many workshops and sessions aimed at improving public speaking confidence, in addition to practising my public speaking at local schools and competitions.

Secondly, to be a Motivational Speaker, one must have credibility. It is very hard to convince someone to follow your advice when you don’t have a CV/resume that is deserving of respect. If you are an entrepreneurial Motivational Speaker, it would be advantageous to have one or two functioning and successful businesses that you can use as the products of your advice. I have an impressive portfolio that I have already used in talks. Becoming a Motivational Speaker would only give me more opportunities to expand my portfolio.

The last thing a Motivational Speaker needs is flexibility. This, in my opinion, is the most important quality a Motivational Speaker must have. People are incredibly diverse, every person you meet will have a different set of problems to overcome or skills that they want to use. As a Motivational Speaker, you need to be able to recognise the different situations people are in and tailor your responses to them. Furthermore, some people may simply be uninterested in a certain style of speaking. I have proven myself to be flexible when it comes to creating engaging speeches. However, I can also recognise when to be specific and target a certain audience, I often find that some Motivational Speakers fail to resonate with anyone as a result of trying to be non-specific.

Ultimately, I want to be a Motivational Speaker and I have the skills to do so. I have an understanding of what is required to be successful in the world of Motivational Speaking and I am looking forward to using that knowledge in the future.
