International Women’s Day Speaker in Oxford
Every March 8th people the world over come together to celebrate International Women’s Day. The exact reasons why March 8th was chosen back in the early 20th century have become shrouded in uncertainty but the significance of the day and what it represents have only grown clearer. If you plan on holding an event this year you will need an International Women’s Day speaker in Oxford who will leave your audience inspired and energized. That speaker is Bianca Miller.
TESTIMONIALS
Antonia Listrat, Clifford Chance
It's rare that I feel so inspired after attending a personal development talk- most of the time it feels like I've heard it all before. That was not the case with Bianca, who is truly exceptional at what she does. I had the opportunity to listen to her speak at one of the events organised by Clifford Chance. The talk felt so fresh, authentic, and full of valuable information all the way through. If you are looking to improve your personal brand (which you definitely should), I cannot recommend Bianca enough!

How Did International Women’s Day Start?
The Industrial Revolution eliminated some of the economic imbalances that had existed for centuries between the haves and have-nots. Suddenly, a man with a good idea and the drive to see it through could become financially successful and buy himself a seat at the table of power. Women, on the other hand, were generally excluded from participating in this new upward mobility. By the early 20th century many women had had enough and in 1908 15,000 women marched in New York City to demand better pay, better working conditions and the right to vote. This is widely considered to be the spark that lit the flame that led to International Women’s Day.
The Importance of International Women’s Day
All too often societal structures are designed to discourage women from not just succeeding but even participating. In historical terms inequality has been baked into economic, political and religious systems and taught to girls as if it were the result of divine edict. It’s not, and International Women’s Day exists to remind us of that and to forward an agenda of positive change that will level the playing field for women throughout the world.
International Women’s Day exists to agitate for greater equality between the sexes. It is a day for women everywhere to come together, lift their voices, share their experiences and hopes and steel themselves for the challenges that lie ahead. Your International Women’s Day event in Oxford is part of an ongoing global movement to identify and eradicate inequality so that women everywhere can realise their potential.
The Importance of Choosing the Right International Women’s Day Speaker in Oxford
Every March 8th we celebrate women of all nationalities, races, faiths, ethnicities, ages and abilities. In order to do justice to the solemn nature of the day it’s crucial that your International Women’s Day speaker in Oxford is someone who has come face to face with the myriad societal obstacles erected to keep women down and, just as importantly, overcome them.
Bianca Miller is just such a speaker. She rose from obscurity to become a business leader, best-selling author, successful entrepreneur and TV personality. She first came to prominence in 2014 when she became the first woman of colour to reach the finals of The Apprentice on the BBC. And her star has continued to rise steadily ever since.
