As human beings, we have the capacity to speak. Most people will also be able to express themselves or deliver a message verbally. However, in order to be one of the top speakers in the world, you’ll need more than that. The top speakers in the world can inspire people with stories of their own experience. Their speeches will capture the crowd’s attention within minutes. If you think you want to be, or can be, one of the top speakers in the world, take a look at the following examples.

One of the top speakers in the world is Nick Vujicic. He lives an extraordinary life. He was born with Tetra-Amelia syndrome, a very rare illness which meant he was born without four limbs. Despite his disability, he has been travelling around the world and speaking to people. He inspires his audience by sharing the difficulties that he has been facing throughout his life. The message he tries to deliver is clear; if a person without four limbs can type 43 words a minute on a computer, nothing is impossible. His speeches are not only inspirational and motivating but also emotional. If you go on Youtube and watch some of his speeches, you will easily find shots of people sobbing in the crowd. To me, these shots show the reason why he is one of the top speakers in the world: because he can touch the audience.

Another good example is Barack Obama. The former president’s successful political career actually began with a speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2004. Similar to Nick Vujicic, he loved to share his life experience with his audience. Back in 2004, the audience, including some famous politicians such as Joe Biden and John Kerry, was stimulated by his speech about the challenges he had faced and his vision and dream for the future. This very speech made him famous within the party. He was eventually nominated to run for president in 2008 and the rest is history. He is one of the top speakers in the world not only because he touches the crowd but because he can also make his point clearly using simple and concise language (for example his speech on ‘Change’ during his election campaign).
