The world of marketing is an ever-changing environment. Although this may be a statement that you have heard over and over again, it is true and it will remain true for a great deal of time. Marketing started off in the most basic of ways as a simple means of advertising a good; however, it soon developed into a method of attracting the attention of the entire populous through the use of social media and many other online platforms. It is fair to say, therefore, that marketing is one of the most important aspects of any business strategy, since it is what allows a business to grow by reaching the large amount of people who browse the internet daily. In a sentence, marketing is a magnificent tool which allows businesses to grow and become more popular. The question is, however, what does the future of marketing look like? Let us look briefly at the history of marketing in the fashion industry, and then jump forward to look at the potential effect that an inanimate object could have on the field of marketing.

One of the biggest advancements in the world of marketing was the creation of social media marketing. This is the use of social media platforms – Twitter, Instagram or Facebook to name a few – to promote a product or service. This allowed many brands to easily post about their products and reach a wide variety of people who could potentially consume said products. Moreover, social media marketing revolutionized the field of marketing as it made use of celebrity influencers. Brands began to realise that celebrities could promote their goods, hence meaning that they began to reach out to influencers in the hope that this would allow their brand to grow. Such was the case with Nasaseasons – a fashion company created by Alexandre Daillance (a.k.a Millinsky) – as it became hugely successful due to its use of influencers such as Rihanna, Wiz Khalifa and Tyga. Millinsky used Instagram to connect with stars in the music industry which allowed Nasaseasons to transform from a Bedroom Brand to an enormous organisation which rejected bulk orders from Urban Outfitters. This single example highlights the truly awesome power of social media marketing and the way in which it has influenced many industries such as the fashion industry. It is a simple and easy tool to use and has extremely high rewards, so what’s not to like about it?

The world of business can be cruel, tiresome and infuriating to say the least. Business speakers, therefore, have the monumental task of inspiring business change and growth to some of the world’s largest firms or firms which are only just finding their feet. The difficulty of this task is finding a formula which works for a wide-range of businesses (if not all businesses) and being able to tinker with it to offer a more personal service. As nice as it would be to offer a different plan for each and every business, a business speaker cannot do this because they will create inconsistencies. Therefore, business speakers must develop a formula with which they are able to help companies to grow and become the giants that they want to be. WIth that being said, let us explore the work of two of the world’s best business speakers. These two individuals have worked extremely hard to do what they have done, therefore they deserve each and every ounce of praise that they receive,

Alan O’Neill is the first of the two business speakers that I would like to say a bit about. Alan started off as a distributor of Homewares, Hair, Beauty and Coffee. He then took on the task of turning around the “sleeping giant” that Selfridges once was. In doing so, he created one of the world’s most successful department stores. Alan’s main idea is that of creating an obsessive customer service culture. By focusing on this, Alan believes that a business will be able to maximise their sales potential. This is perhaps the reason for Selfridges’ enormous popularity among the general public. I, for one, certainly believe that the customer service in Selfridges is exemplary and something that all sellers should aim for. Alan is such a successful business speaker due to his ability to condense complex points into rather basic phrases. This is, in my opinion, the reason that he is so good.

Another of my favourite business speakers is Amanda Wakeley; the designer of stylish and luxurious womenswear and accessories. Amanda is the creator of her own luxury lifestyle and brand and is also well-known for her passionate and informed speaking style. Amanda talks on a range of topics, such as the way in which fashion businesses can grow and succeed, how to develop a luxury brand and the way in which her life has developed as the owner of a successful luxury brand. Amanda’s ability to talk passionately, and use her own experiences is what makes her one of my favourite business speakers.

Business speakers are tasked with the difficult job of inspiring business success. There is no perfect formula; however, business speakers must create their own so that they can motivate and inspire the next generation of business leaders. Motivational speaking seminars are events at which motivational speakers are able to speak to audiences in the hope that they can influence them. Often, speakers will deliver their own personal messages to audiences so that they can force them to have a different perspective on the world which may help them to better their lives. For me, these events are the best way of spreading the word about your services, therefore people should place lots of emphasis on what they say at motivational speaking seminars. Moreover, speaking for society, if a motivational speaker can give out the best and most effective message possible, they are able to better the nature of society so that it may be a more peaceful, happy, productive and determined environment in which people can thrive. It must be said, therefore, that motivational speaking seminars have the capacity to have huge effects on the lives of the public, therefore people should be really serious about their message. Let me now explain the sort of thing that I would say at a motivational speaking seminar and the reasons for my decision.

The first thing that I would say at a motivational speaking seminar is do not be afraid to be outlandish. By being creative, original and different, you are giving yourself the best chance to do something which has not been done before. Moreover, you are able to give yourself a purpose for which you can fully throw yourself towards. This will not only benefit any business or financial goal that you may have, but it also has the potential to benefit your mental well-being. This is because a quirky and original outlook on life can make you feel unique and special, therefore, meaning that you appreciate your existence and value your life. You may subsequently enjoy life for what it truly is – a wonderful gift that we ought to cherish. My simple message of being outlandish, therefore, can allow people to enjoy their subjective existence and therefore inspire them to innovate further which may bring them spiritual or financial goodness. It must, hence, be stressed at motivational speaking seminars.

The second thing that I would say is to work hard in whatever you do. This is particularly aimed at the younger generation who seem, at times, to live as if they are entirely dependent on technology. Technological advances are great, but they cannot do everything for you. You must still work hard. That is, therefore, a great reason to spread the message. I have seen the effects of a lack of hardwork and dedication and I wouldn’t want anyone to suffer those effects. Therefore, I would wish everyone to be completely dedicated to whatever it is that they are doing.

I understand that these points are very basic, however basic points are what most people need. They become confused in the intricate and complicated things in the 21st century when they should simply return back to the basics. To some, philosophy is considered to be one of the most mundane topic. This, most commonly, is due to the “unanswerable” questions which instil rage in the brains of students. Moreover, the idea that philosophy is useless is because people believe that it has nothing to do with the real world. To these people I would simply say this – philosophy has everything to do with the real world. It is, in my opinion, a topic which solely focuses on the lives of humans and aims to answer questions or improve life. It, therefore, has a direct connection with the actions of famous motivational speakers who aim to improve the lives of others. Famous motivational speakers may be aware of this relationship with philosophy; however, the vast majority of people are unaware of its existence. Let me, therefore, explain the reasons that I believe philosophers and famous motivational speakers and not quite as dissimilar as people may believe.

One of the clear connections between philosophers and famous motivational speakers is their desire to question things in order to improve the way in which people live. Many of the most famous motivational speakers will question the way in which people live in order to make them aware of the bad habits that they may have. In doing so, they are able to force people to consider the way in which they are living in the hope that they can better themselves. The same can be said for philosophers, in particular for Socrates. Socrates claimed to not have any true knowledge of the world. Instead, he used a method of questioning people and logical tricks which allowed him to show faults in the logic and reasoning of those whom he spoke with. In this sense, Socrates was very similar to many of the modern era’s most famous motivational speakers because he questioned the reasoning of individuals in the hope that they would then see the faults in their reasoning.

Moreover, motivational speakers will have things in common with the English philosopher, John Stuart Mill. His paper, On Liberty, was famous due to his insistence on freedom from social restraints. Mill argued that we ought to all follow our personal desires and that “it is not conscientiousness but cowardice to shrink away from acting on their opinions”. In this way, MIll is very much like a motivational speaker, as the most famous motivational speakers often advocate pursuing one’s own goals. Moreover, they often advocate that we should do whatever we can to reach our goals.

In sum, there is a clear link between philosophers and famous motivational speakers. Perhaps more of us should read philosophy and listen to the words of famous motivational speakers so that we can better our lives. By definition, a speakers bureau is an organization which provides speakers to companies or firms for events. These events can range from business conferences to motivational speaking events. It is the job of the the speaking bureau to provide motivational speakers, keynote speakers, comedic speakers and many other types of speakers. Why is it, however, that we need these organisations? Is it not easier to directly contact a speaker to book his or her services? Does it not save the hassle of having to go through an agency. I would say not. Speaking bureaus act as a means to an end; by this I mean that they allocate us with the best speaker for our event, therefore meaning that we avoid the hassle of searching endlessly for the speaker that we want. By having a centralized service which groups together speakers, we are able to simply browse for the type of speaker that we want (rather than searching mindlessly for a specific speaker). Let us explore some of the other benefits of speaking bureaus.

The primary benefit of speaking bureaus is mentioned above: they act as a centralized agency which provides us easy access to speakers who will be able to better our events. They are also beneficial because they provide us with the names of speakers whom we previously did not know. It is human instinct to choose the biggest names that we know; however, speaking bureaus offer a wide range of speakers that often fly under the radar. Furthermore, it can quite often be that these people are exactly who we were searching for. We, therefore kill two birds with one stone by using a speaking bureau; we are able to find the perfect speaker and we needn’t go through the hassle of contacting him or her directly.

In addition, some speaking bureaus offer alternative services such as Executive Learning masterclasses. These sessions are offered by the London Speakers’ Bureau as a service which is offered to senior managers and tailor made to teach them more about leadership, thereby allowing them to better their skills. Furthermore, The London Speakers’ Bureau also offers Boardroom advice to businesses to enable them to maximise their potential. These services are not offered by all speaking bureaus, however that is what makes the London SPeakers’ Bureau stand out among the competition.

We see, therefore, that speaking bureau’s offer effective services for anyone seeking for professional speakers. They offer straightforward advice and function due to their leaders’ ability to network and promote themselves. Before you start reading, I want to make it clear that this is not an advertisement for a motivational speaking role. As much as motivational speakers are wanted, this is not an advertisement for them. It is, however, an article to explain why motivational speakers are wanted now more than ever. The 21st century can be a cruel place; there are lots of cases of violence and harassment and these cases have been made all the more evident (and even in grown in number) due to the growth of social media and online media platforms. Everyone has the chance to see what is being said about them, and say whatever they want about people, so naturally there is going to be the likelihood of more conflicting opinions between people. This is where motivational speakers come in. Motivational speakers are wanted to show people that there is more to life than just hatred and violence. Motivational speakers are also wanted to show people that direction and dedication can make the world seem a lot brighter; all you have got to do is give things a chance. Let me explore this ideas further in the hope that I can show you why motivational speakers are wanted.

I believe that motivational speakers are wanted to show people that there is more to life than pure hatred and violence. Perhaps if we lived in a lawless state of nature that wouldn’t be the case; however, that is not the case. According to Steven Pinker, the level of violence is decreasing in the world due to the human realisation of the importance of relations with others, the importance of not being violent to allow trade and a desire to not have violence like in previous centuries. We, however, see the mass violence worldwide due to our historical myopia in which we ignore how bad things were compared to now. Although Pinker may not be a motivational speaker, he is showing how human nature is improving. All this needs, therefore, is a speaker to pick up on his ideas and to elaborate on them to show people that the world is good. Motivational speakers are wanted to show that happiness does exist, but they must spread the message in a succinct manner which will impact the lives of others.

Moreover, motivational speakers are wanted to show people that dedication and hard work can make the world a brighter place. To succeed one must work hard and be dedicated to a trade. It is something that young children hear, but they often ignore due to the distractions of the modern world. It seems too easy to be distracted in the modern world, so speakers must do something to channel the mental capacity of humans so that they can prosper. It simply requires speakers to tell audiences of the benefits of dedication and the problems of distraction.

In sum, I hope to have shown how everyone could be benefited by motivational speakers in the modern world. Amidst the Brexit troubles, and the conflict worldwide, motivational speakers are wanted so that they can attempt to restore the calmness and joy that the world so deeply lusts for. When asked, “which professional motivational speakers do you know?” most people would probably list off people such as Tony Robbins, Eric Thomas, Mel Robbins or Debra Searle. There is, however, a group of individuals who could potentially be labelled as professional motivational speakers. This group of people often go under the radar as motivational speakers, however they are well-known for their companies, podcasts, Instagram accounts and (most importantly) their videos. If you haven’t figured it out by now, I am suggesting that Youtubers could be labelled as professional motivational speakers due to their capacity to captivate large audiences with simple videos. Although some Youtubers merely use the platform for entertainment purposes, a lot of influencers use it to instil a message which they believe the world needs to hear. They often do so through the medium of funny sketches or sometimes serious videos. Nonetheless, they have the ability to share these messages and that is why I believe that they can be considered as professional motivational speakers. Let me develop my points, in order to explain the connection between motivational speakers and Youtubers.

One reason that Youtubers can act as professional motivational speakers is due to their ability to transmit a simple motivational message through the medium of language. Although not all Youtubers present their messages as presentations, they still act as motivators through the medium of written words on a screen. This is evident, for example, through the work of Ben Lionel Scott who creates motivational videos which encourage people to “control their lives so that life doesn’t control them” or to “keep going through errors in order to find the right way.” Mr Scott is transmitting his message in the same way that a professional motivational speaker may do, therefore showing his capacity to motivate an audience. Moreover, his videos feature real people living their lives and trying to be better, therefore meaning that his audience can relate to those people just as they would relate to an anecdote at a professional motivational speaker’s conference. In sum, Youtubers have the capacity to use their platform to influence people in the same way that professional motivational speakers do. The only slight difference is that they are not performing at a conference to a live audience.

A common thing that youtubers also do is to reflect on the year that has gone by. Many youtubers created reviews of their 2019 year to show people how things were for them. Naturally, there were ups and downs but the videos showed just how youtubers can inspire people to be their best self by showing how they face adversity and by showing how they allow themselves to triumph. A lot of it is down to hard work, organization and dedication; skills which we can all learn from the unknown professional motivational. A few months ago I came across the infamous TED Talk by Ken Robinson entitled “Do Schools Kill Creativity?” I was immediately struck by the talk and began to think about it and its implications. I did a bit of thinking but it didn’t result in much. Nonetheless, I began thinking about it recently and this time I thought a bit harder. I realised that schooling systems do seem to enforce rules and subjects which may kill creativity, however that is not the fault of the schools. I also thought of particular ways that schools could combat this and immediately I thought about motivational keynote speaking. In order to promote creativity, I believe that schools ought to promote more people to speak up, thereby allowing them to inspire their fellow pupils and act as motivational keynote speakers. I think that this is not only beneficial for the individual, but also his peers, therefore I would like to explain why I think that schools can do more to produce motivational keynote speakers of their own,

The easiest way of producing motivational keynote speakers within schools is by allowing more school children to speak out and present on ideas about which they are passionate. For example, more children should be given the chance to speak during assemblies so that they can practice delivering speeches to their peers. As any motivational keynote speaker will tell you, the only way to improve your skills is through practice, therefore you should do as much as you can, whenever you can. The creative aspect of this comes with the choice of your topic. You needn’t be afraid to talk about a topic which you are passionate about; in fact you should do everything within your power to present on in it in as creative a manner as possible. In doing so, you are enhancing your creative skills, as well as allowing yourself the chance to improve your chances of being a good speaker and potential motivational keynote speaker.

I would also argue that students should be taught more about the importance of motivational keynote speakers. They ought to be educated about the ways in which they work so that they can understand the most effective method of becoming a motivational keynote speaker. Without guidance, it is very difficult for anyone to succeed or excel in their field. Therefore, schools ought to offer training to students to give them the chance to talk passionately, and properly, about something which they like. In doing so, they can spark creativity within them and also potentially create a new motivational keynote speaker.

In sum, in response to Ken Robinson I would say that some parts of school to remove creativity, but schools have the opportunity to improve creativity by allowing them to chance to be motivational keynote speakers within the school community. Over the past few decades, there has been a real surge in the use of online media platforms such as Youtube, Facebook or Instagram. The use of these platforms has meant that fewer people actually go out to see people act or present or sing because they can do so from the luxury of their own home. Such has also been the case for motivational conferences, since people feel that they no longer need to go out in order to witness a motivational speaker. Instead, they choose to simply visit their website or look on Youtube.

Although this is beneficial, I would still argue that motivational conferences are some of the best events to attend because they give one the best chance to actively take in information which may better one’s life. In comparison to motivational conferences, online videos merely require a passive viewer therefore meaning that the information is less likely to be absorbed by the audience. Moreover, a physical conference allows an individual to meet others who may be experiencing life in a similar or different way. Whatever their experience of life, different people can help each other develop a different outlook in life which may enable mental empowerment and well-being. With this being said, I would like to explore some motivational conferences which you may be unaware of.

One motivational conference which I find to be particularly attractive is The Passion Summit – an event in Chicago which is on the 6th and 7th May 2019. The event has a very clear purpose: to help ignite your passion, fuel your existence and create purpose in your life. The summit is an ideal motivational conference for those individuals who are struggling to find purpose in their lives. Moreover, it may be a useful conference for people who have ideas, but are struggling to put them into action and execute them. The Passion Summit will feature people such as the entrepreneur and author Carey Smolensky and the passion mentor Karen Putz. For those of you seeking to find passion, or looking for help channeling passion, I recommend this motivational conference for you.

For those of you based in the UK, I would recommend the “10 Top Tips To Maintain Motivation” conference in Surrey. This motivational conference is focused on supporting those who need help with weight loss or healthy eating. Moreover, it also focuses on helping people to move closer to reaching their goals by suggesting tips to better your mindset and psychological health. Social media is one of the biggest advancements of the recent decades. The surge in usage of platforms such as Instagram, Facebook or Snapchat shows just how invested people are in social media marketing. People also have the potential to become social media influencers – individuals with large followings on social media platforms (often signified by a blue tick next to their name) who promote goods, services or themselves through the use of social media platforms. These individuals hold a strong connection with their followers whereby the followers are often inspired by the way in which they influencers behave. Therefore, it could be argued that the influencers play a key role in determining the actions, behaviours and attitudes of their followers. You may ask, what has this got to do with popular motivational speakers? Well, I would argue that social media influencers and popular motivational speakers have many things in common. Moreover, I would argue that social media influencers have the potential to become popular motivational speakers and vice versa.

The first trait that popular motivational speakers and social media influencers have in common is that they often have a message which they are trying to get across to the public in order to help them better their lives. This message needn’t be overly complex, but it must be something which can force a change for the good. One of my favourite online influencers is Alfie Deyes – a Youtube star who runs the channel “PointlessBlog”. Alfie has been making fun videos and  vlogs for a while now, but it is his life mantra which has struck me over the past few years. Alfie advocates a very simple message – do your future self a favour and work hard today. The beauty of this simple catchphrase is that everyone can understand it. Moreover, everyone has the potential to work harder since it merely requires a shift in mindset rather than an acquisition of goods, for example. This is what makes Alfie very similar to a popular motivational speaker; he is able to reach a large audience with such a simple message.

A second feature that influencers and popular motivational speakers have in common is that they are always able to use things from their lives to help other people. This is key as it allows one to build a strong relationship with an audience. An example that sticks in my mind is Joe Weller; another Youtube star. Joe released a documentary following his boxing match with KSI which showed his preparation for the fight. The documentary was amazing because it showed the struggles that Joe went through and the way in which he was able to overcome these difficulties. As such, he truly did act as a popular motivational speaker may do by the fact that he was able to inspire people by showing them how he overcame hardship.
In summary I hope you can see how social media influencers are very much like popular motivational speakers. Perhaps, one day we will see more influencers become popular motivational speakers.
